Telemarketers and Politicians
April 8th, 2008The following are telemarketers and politicians who’ve called and made me mad. I’ve been on the DNC list since its inception, and while political yahoos are exempt, they’re still not welcome. Keep in mind, unsolicited calls to cell phones is just as illegal as to your land line. Also, while you do have to accept calls from companies you’ve ‘done business with’, you can always ask to be removed from the list, and they’re legally obligated to comply. If they don’t, you should complain.
To complain, hit up the Better Business Bureau or The Do Not Call List. Both let you complain online.
How to Make This List
- Hang up on me
- Refuse to let me speak to your manager/supervisor
- Tell me you can’t put me on your company’s do-not-call list
- Tell me I couldn’t have already voted (Really? I mean come on, Illinois has Early Voting. If you work for a politician you should know this.)
- Call on Friday night/Saturday
- Call ‘after hours’ (before 8 a.m. and after 9 p.m.)
