I like to do things myself. It’s just the way I am. But I also like a quick way to see ‘what stupid things do I need to update?’ Thus I currently use Fantastico for 99% of my installations on this server. I just migrated the blog from my hand-hewn install to Fantastico, and it was relatively painless. I moved the /blog folder to /blog2, did a fresh install on /blog, and then copied the SQL db over. It was really easy and simple. I haven’t reinstated my old theme because I’m just not sure how much I like it.
